At Provo Elks Lodge #849, the bar opens at 11 a.m. sharp, and the welcome starts the moment you walk in. Rated 4.6 stars across 179 reviews, this lodge has earned a reputation that stretches well beyond Utah County. Members who have visited Elks lodges from coast to coast consistently rank Lodge #849 among the best they have ever stepped foot in, and that distinction is not accidental.

The character here is built on specifics: a complimentary first drink for visiting members, a signature pin to mark the occasion, and a Wednesday night dinner program that draws regulars week after week. The hand-cut ribeye has become the stuff of local legend, and the butterflied shrimp is not far behind. Two pool tables keep the lounge lively, and the drinks are priced the way a lodge should price them.

Beyond the bar and the kitchen, Lodge #849 has made a real mark on the community. The VetsHere sculpture garden on the grounds stands as a tribute carved by a lodge member, a quiet, powerful reminder that the Elks' commitment to veterans is not just a slogan. At 1000 S University Ave in Provo, this lodge is organized, active, and genuinely proud of what it has built.

What We Offer

The lounge at Lodge #849 runs daily from 11 a.m., offering well-priced cocktails, beer, and spirits in a relaxed setting where members and their guests can unwind without breaking the bank. Pool tables and good company fill the room most afternoons.

Wednesday evenings bring the lodge's dinner program to life. The kitchen turns out serious food, including the hand-cut ribeye and butterflied shrimp that reviewers keep coming back to mention by name. It is a sit-down experience that punches well above its price point.

Beyond the social amenities, Lodge #849 runs a full calendar of charitable programs, with a particular focus on veterans' causes and youth initiatives. The on-site VetsHere park and sculpture garden reflect that commitment in a tangible, lasting way. Visiting Elks members are always welcome, and new members can explore the benefits of joining one of Provo's most active fraternal organizations.

"This has been one of the best Elk Lodge that I’ve been in. I’ve been at least to 10 in the country. So I can definitely compare. I was given a pin and the first drink on the house. They have 2 pool tables for free. It can’t get better than that. It has 5 RV full hook ups and 3 dry camping. They are all leveled and large spots. The lodge is modern and very clean. The people were friendly and the service excellent. The food was good and reasonable. I highly recommend coming to this lodge."

"Great lodge. Friendly people. Very organized. Lounge open daily at 11 a.m. Very reasonable drinks. They have dinner Wednesday nights. Excellent. I had a hand cut Ribeye and my wife had butterflied shrimp. Choice of potato plus veggies, roll, and soup or salad. $12 and we took half back to the RV. 5 full hookup RV sites - $30 donation. "By far one of the friendliest lodge stays we have experienced. They have 5 full hook up sites and 3 dry camp sites. Camp host is friendly and responsible. He keeps the area nice with a small garden area and a good focus on safety. We spent 2 evenings in the bar with Katherine as our bartender. She is attentive, welcoming and shares a lot of great info about things to do in the area. All the lodge members we met were nice and more inclusive than some we have met at other lodges. Highly recommend visiting, just be sure you plan to stay a few nights. Lots to do!! We will certainly stay again if our travel plans take us thru Provo."
